TEDxStanleyPark: Ideas to Action

I don’t know about you, but I’m one for personal development. This year’s TEDxStanleyPark, themed around cultivating action behind ideas, is the kickoff event of the summer.

TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) Talks was founded in 1984 with the mantra of “Ideas worth spreading”. The ideas continue to spread to this day; TED events have grown exponentially in popularity and have lent themselves to locally produced TEDx events all around the globe.

TEDx allows local communities to take the stage presenting brilliant ideas, cultivating a culture of growth and bringing together humans united to make a difference, to make things better. TEDx is a bi-product of TED promoting idea sharing in communities internationally backed by the reputation of TED Talks. With values such as being a catalyst for transformational change and building tribes of empowered, integrity filled leaders, TEDx talks are the venue in which real change happens.

Since 2010 TEDx events in the Lower Mainland have been gathering thousands of thought leaders; those with brilliant ideas and those wanting to take action creating memorable, meaningful change. On May 28, 2016 TEDxStanley Park, the city’s third annual TEDx event will be more memorable than ever. Featuring a incredible speaker list of ten speakers on topics ranging from our education curriculum to sex counselling and even reducing slave labour, TedxStanleyPark promises to breathe life back into the ideas we dream, the choices we make and actions we take. This event is one I wouldn’t and won’t miss.
