On December 12, 2017, B asked me to to marry him. The twelfth of each month is particularly special to us both, so to him, it only made sense to wrap up 2017, after nearly five years together, asking for forever.
We walked the path we’d walked many times before, coffee in hand, through Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park. A coral coloured sunset, on a pier with a tall wooden chair, where I had told him mere months before countless reasons I loved him. Not a passerby to be had, the quiet dock on that clear evening now marks my heart in a remarkable way.
To a legacy of love, from someone who never thought about everlastingness.
